The January 1930 issue of
The Home: An Australian Quarterly, contains a brief speculative discussion about the recent publication of
Twelve Milestones. The writer of the social column, 'Sydney S'Amuse', muses: 'It is certainly intriguing to get a notice from a publisher announcing that a prominent Sydney hostess is publishing a book of memoirs "in which the names of numerous well-known Sydney people appear, your own included."...Is it too much to hope that it will be scandalous - about others - while leaving our own fair name unsullied...?'
