An article criticising the Sentinel newspaper and its anti-Roman Catholic stance in which the Morning Chronicle author states 'we do not consider religion a fit subject of newspaper controversy ... it is only necessity in the defence of what we believe to be truth, which could at any time urge us to it ...'. The article continues with examples of anti Roman Catholicism taken from the Sentinel which the Morning Chronicle refutes.
