'A vast area of planet Earth is bounded by the Tropic of Capricorn in the south and the Tropic of Cancer in the north. The climatically and geographically related areas in the band centred on the Equator include Northern Australia and South-East Asia, the great central mass of Africa, the bulk of South America, and countless smaller areas in the vast expanse of the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans. This journal aims to explore the variety and interrelated-ness of nature and culture in this region.
