Notes

  • Author's note: 'I started writing poetry as an alternative to keeping a diary on a trip around Australia in 1992.
The major influence on my poetry was a presentation of Judith Wright's work, on her eightieth birthday, by the Sydney actress Dawn Langman accompanied by the violinist Peri Hart. Suddenly poetry became alive in a manner I never thought possible.
Readers will find a broad range of poems packed with human interest and written in various styles : the excitement of the outback ; the mystique of the desert ; memory trips back to the experiences of childhood ; love in its various forms [and] some of life's experiences seen from very different angles'.
