AbstractHistoryArchive Description

A child abandoned by his mother in the Tasmanian bush is adopted by the eccentric Snuffy Peg who raises him in Launceston with some care - despite occasional drunken lapses. Several years later he sees his 'mother' and follows her to the low den where she is staying. She agrees to return with him to Peg's where he discovers that he is Peg's grandson, and later recovers family diamonds secreted in Scotland by his grandfather before he was transported to Australia.
