AbstractHistoryArchive Description

A mining manager who does much to better conditions for the miners and their families is considered a coward for not fighting his overseer - but his bravery during a mine cave-in restores him to honour. Even his fiancée had doubted him for a time. Probably Australian setting but unspecified. Generally pious rather than exciting. (PB)
