  • First produced by the Hunter Valley Theatre Co., Playhouse, Newcastle, NSW, 5 September 1981. original music and lyrics were by Allan McFadden (q.v.)

    Essington Lewis : I am Work was later revised and produced in Newcastle in 1982; at the Stables Theatre, Sydney, 3 October 1985; and then in Adelaide in July 1986.
