AbstractHistoryArchive Description

In the country, an old woman recounts her bitter memories to her younger friend, who is herself struggling with an insecure relationship with her boyfriend.

Notes

  • Armstrong received 'Old Mrs Bilson' from Alan Marshall, whose work she had adapted while still in film school. She adapted the story, in collusion with Marshall, by adding the new character of Charley, whose interactions with Mrs Bilson draw out Mrs Bilson's own past.
