Notes

  • Some aspects of this article relating to Roy Rene's early career and the Stiffy and Mo partnership are now known to be erroneous, and were possibly drawn from (or based on sources which themselves rely on) Fred Parsons' problematic 1973 Rene biography - A Man Called Mo (see that entry in Austlit for further information). For a detailed analysis of the Nat Phillips and Roy Rene partnership see Clay Djubal '"What Oh Tonight" : The Methodology Factor and Pre-1930s Australian Variety Theatre' (2005).
