This article discusses a pilot project by John Worthington - Children's Book Shuffle, which is a free community based book exchange activity, whereby families donate their unwanted children's books to a central pool, usually school-based. These books are able to be borrowed and retained by children, with a range of related literacy activities undertaken at the same time, to raise awareness of literacy and the importance of books at home and at school.
