Author note: This poem is in memory of Thomas Thorne, a hard-working shearer in Western Australia, who had 11 children to care for. Mum (Amy Michael) was always by his side. They are both deceased now, and have over 100 descendants today. My sister Erica wrote this poem - Charmaine Williams.
