AbstractHistoryArchive Description

Eight-year-old Mai-Tzu is awakened from a nap by the sound of firecrackers exploding. People are celebrating in the streets. He soon discovers that the celebration marks the start of the festival of the moon princess, which lasts for three days and three nights in China, Japan, and Korea. Mai-Tzu doesn't believe in the moon princess and, unimpressed, decides to hunt fireflies instead. When he happens upon a lovely girl, he soon realises that she is the moon princess. She points out the Milky Way and various stars to Mai-Tzu. Then she takes him flying to Korea and Japan to see the festival celebrations.
