AbstractHistoryArchive Description

An adventuress posing as Lady Elmore tries to involve an eminent doctor in her scheme to rob a jeweller. The plan seems to work until Dr Girard reveals that he recognises her as his wife. She is arrested and he declares her mad. Brief, neatly executed tale. (PB)
