Notes:
Author note: The short-nosed spiny anteater is a loner and usually territorial, occupying an area measuring about 2500ft (800m) in diameter, which overlaps with the patrol areas of others of their species. It is still unkown whether a home range is used exclusively by only one animal. These animals, with their well-developed sense of smell, can probably recognize each other 'personally'.
