Goldsworthy analyses what makes poetry memorable - and rememberable: rhythm, rhyme and, above all, metaphor. He quotes from the poetry of several Australian poets - Judith Wright, Philip Hodgins, John Forbes and Gwen Harwood ( a 'small Dead Poet's Society') and Les Murray.
