Blue Bowli"This pedestal bowl against the light",Jan Owen,
single work poetry
The tilt of the bowl suggests a desire for something apart from its function as a fruit container, and reminds the writer of a doctor who would adjust her asymmetrical nipple after a check-up. They would flirt and laugh a lot, but in a year went no further. Hearing that his marriage later fell apart, she wonders if it was training or natural bent that helped keep him 'straight'?
