  • Author's note: 'Acknowledgement is made to the Australian poet, Victor Kennedy [sic], in the first verse of his beautiful classical poem, 'Psyche and Eros', which prompted the opening lines of The City Beautiful.' (The poem 'Psyche and Eros' by James Kennedy appears to be the one referred to by the author).
