  • "Father Watson, though he wrote a fair amount of poetry, had, in my opinion, scarcely a spark of the poetical temperament in him. He was by nature unpoetical: a poet made, not born. His poetical writings were the result, not of a vivid imagination, but of care and study" (p.16)
