AbstractHistoryArchive Description

'Flight of an Eagle: The dreaming of Ruby Hammond is an inspiring story of an Aboriginal woman who spent her life seeking justice and equality for Aboriginal people. Ruby Hammond fought against racism and discrimination through her work with the Council of Aboriginal Women, the Aboriginal Legal Rights Movement and the public service. By her untimely death in 1993, Ruby had witnessed the beginnings of the long journey towards reconciliation.

'Former journalist Margaret Forte writes with respect and admiration of her friend Ruby's remarkable life, her work, her philosophy and the vision she had of a better life for her people.' (Publication summary)
