AbstractHistoryArchive Description

Examines an aspect of the the 'institution of reviewing' which had not received much critical attention previously: the pictures, photographs and images which often accompany and 'illustrate' the reviews. The research is based on a survey of two months of book review pages in the Sydney Morning Herald and the Australian in 1990.
