Thowra, the magnificent silver stallion, is king of the brumbies. He must defend his herd from the mighty horse, the Brolga, in the most savage of struggles. He must also save his herd from capture by man.
The story about Choopa, a Blue Roan foal, who dances. Dandaloo fears for her foal's safety, and with Son of Storm, Wingilla and Bri Bri, leads him up into the mountains, away from the threat of man. But one man, will not give up his search for the foal.
Burra knows this foal will bring trouble. It cannot be Coolawyn's foal - none of the herd has seen a snow-white foal with such strange red eyes before. Who is he really? Why is it now that the drumming hooves of galloping horses are heard in the deepest dark of night? In the beating storms of winter, a mare cries out in desperation ... a stallion calls, searching.
