  • Ron Edwards states in The Overlander Songbook that he has 'sighted an unmarked and undated newspaper cutting' in which the song, under the title of 'The New Marilla Shore', is attributed to 'Riley, a poetical and political basketmaker of Sydney, and was sung ... in 1860' [p.136].
