The Morning of the Fray single work   poetry   "'Come on, boys,' says the Darkie, with the devil in his eye;"
Note: MacAlister attributes this poem to the bushranger Gardiner, the 'Darkie' of the first line, as do Douglas and Keesing, although they claim the attribution is 'very doubtful.'
