'In 1932, the five year old Patsy and her Indian nanny are sent, from a volatile riot-prone Bengal city in the North of India, to the peaceful Nilgiri Hills in the south. They are to live with Patsy's grandmother, widow of a retired army officer. Grandmother believed Jane Austen could have lived comfortably in Ooty Town, with its English churches, cottage gardens and Assembly Hall. Unexpectectly, from the jungle, primitive, mystic forces are unleashed. In the midst of confusion, a child discovers a world of enchantment and a Dancing God. Patsy grows up, migrates to Australia. On the death of her Australian husband she is impelled to return to the Nilgiris and discovers life with Grandmother, a tiger, a Dancing God, a loving nanny and a aristocratic Indian 'Butler' was not entirely what it had seemed...'
