At the beginning of one spring Wombat wakes up and decides he is tired of being a wombat, he wants to be a monkey. With his friends, Tabby and Mouse, he has a series of adventures culminating in a performance of Cinderella for all their bush friends. Mouse comments: "There really IS something magic about spring".
