Homeland is one of a collection of plays, Nine Australian Plays, edited by Greg Rudd. It was written in 1985 by two Year 12 students from Brisbane State High School. It is a docu-drama about Vietnamese refugees coming to Australia as a result of the division of Vietnam into North and South. It deals with conflicting attitudes, racial prejudice, and exploitation in the work place. The note at the beginning of the play says 'It was born out of ... interviews with Vietnamese students and Australian students, and liaison with the Brisbane Indo-Chinese Refugee Association.'
