AbstractHistoryArchive Description

The Odyssey is a 11,300 line epic poem that follows the homeward voyage of Odysseus, king of Ithaca, after the Trojan War. It also narrates the stories of Penelope, Odysseus' wife, who faces a legion of suitors and Telemachus, son of Odysseus and Penelope, who attempts to find his father.
