      Note/s:
      • Preface: About two years ago my first little book of 'Chatter' appeared, receiving a warmer welcome than I had dared to hope for it. My talk has gone on ever since, and through it I have made many friends whose kind encouragement has emboldened me to publish 'More Chatter.' Here it is - just the thought that came uppermost, written as one would speak it to an understanding friend. To the proprietors of The Adelaide Observer and The Evening Journal, in which papers these talks have appeared, my thanks are due for permission to republish them. - W. S. (Adelaide, 9th February 1901)
