AbstractHistoryArchive Description

This play is based on an incident that happened during the Gold Rush period. One night several bushrangers held up a stage coach at Lapstone Hill in the Blue Mountains. They set the horses loose, robbed the passengers and ransacked the mail bags. The loss was particularly felt by Ah Lun, a Chinese miner, and his two brothers who were travelling to Sydney to cash in their gold. When a young stable hand Ben offers to lead the travellers to the bushrangers' camp all the passengers agree to the plan in the hope that they can recover their property.
