This play is mentioned in the list of other publications in Frederick Muller's The Singapore Story (1959) and in the US edition of Fortress.
The play was written while Attiwill was in a Japanese prisoner-of-war camp. Contemporary reports indicated that he wrote it on thin paper and hid it inside a wooden ship he had carved himself ('Wrote Play in Jap [sic] P.O.W. Camp', Central Queensland Herald, 7 September 1950. p.12).
Produced at New Lindsey Theatre, London, from 16 August 1950.
