'Yinti Desert Child is a fictionalised narrative based on real experiences as recorded in oral tradition and told to Pat Lowe. It tells of the rites of passage for a young boy-to-be-man from the Walmajarri people of the Great Sandy Desert. Skilfully penned by Pat Lowe and featuring the striking illustrations of renowned artist Jimmy Pike, Yinti Desert Child is about the history of the desert and first contact, from an Aboriginal vantage point.'
