'12-year-old Rilla is perfectly happy living with her parents on their remote wheat farm. Although isolated, she has friends at the tiny bush school she attends, and a close friend, Jamie, with whom she shares her hopes and dreams via e-mail. But everything changes when Rilla's mother falls ill and has to go to Sydney for treatment. Rilla looks forward to finally meeting Jamie in person. But it seems Jamie doesn't want to be met! Rilla, is determined to track him down.'
