An entertaining account of the establishment of a salmon farm near New Norfolk. In forty-two stanzas, the writer describes events relating to the importation of salmon ova from the United Kingdom, the local citizens involved in the project and difficulties when the first hatch of young salmon take 'French leave' and swim away 'to the ocean green'.
