AbstractHistoryArchive Description

In her Foreword to For Ladies Only the late Babette Stephens, M.B.E. writes: 'Between these covers lies a host of roles for women of all ages, shapes and sizes which offer comedy and drama, splendid opportunities for technique and expertise, and infinite artistic reward for both actress and director. Mr Austin's literary strength stems from his notable ability as an actor and, because of his own extensive stage experience, his plays are 'playable' and his dialogue 'speakable'. His situations are frequently unusual and highly original and he is able to turn his hand, with considerable success, to farce, comedy or drama.'

Notes
