AbstractHistoryArchive Description

Garfitt, a rude, insulting profligate estranged from his family, receives news on the same day that he has only ninety days at most to live, and that he has received a conditional inheritance of 1,000 pounds from his father's estate. With the money, he persuades a destitute young French woman to take care of him. Both their lives take unexpected turns and secrets are revealed.
