AbstractHistoryArchive Description

1943. The world is at war and Brisbane is an exciting place full of parties, American soldiers and good-time girls, including the beautiful and naive Nell Warren.

For her sister, Maggie, the war means a long separation from her fiance and having to shoulder the responsibility of keeping her family's business, Warrens Boat-Yard, from going under. No easy task when the men who work there resent having a woman in charge, and a saboteur is wreaking havoc with the few jobs she has managed to find for the yard.

Then, into their lives comes the exciting and mysterious Graham Allingham, a secret government operative who needs Maggie to pose as his sweetheart so that he can use Warrens Boat-Yard as a misison base without arousing suspicion. - back cover
