Notes

  • By way of Introduction.
This play was written by Edna Roughley at the request of the Home Mission Department of the Methodist Church of Australia, New South Wales Conference. The author dramatised the work of the Methodist Inland Mission, and the play is dedicated to the noble band of men and women who have played such a wonderful part in the development of the Commonwealth, particularly those who have penetrated to the centre of the Continent. The permission of the Department must be secured before the play can be produced, and any financial profit must be devoted to the work of methodism in the inalnd. The whole church is indebted to the author for the consecration of her gifts as an author to the Kingdom of God. May the young people of the Church who stage this pageant catch the vision of a continent won for Jesus Christ.
    A. G. Manefield, Home Mission Secretary. Sydney, 1st May, 1944.
