Note that there was no September 1905 issue of Steele Rudd's Magazine. An editorial notice on the contents page (p. xv) of the October 1905 issue states :
'During the late disasterous dengue fever epidemic our whole literary staff was laid up with the fever, and in consequence the April issue of the Magazine was delayed by over a month. Since then strenuous but unavailing efforts have been made to overtake the lost time, and we have now decided to nominally miss the month of September, calling this the October issue of the Magazine.
The substitution of the month of October for that of September in connection with this issue will make no real difference to either subscribers or advertisers, both of whom will receive the same number of issues and advertisements as if the change had bever been made.'
