This mock obituary targets Meston's origins as obscure, and suggests that the cause of death was 'verbal prolepsis': 'No matter how large the subject he could find a colossal world to overshadow it.' The article also makes fun of Meston's athleticism, crocodile-shooting, and Parliamentary career: 'He was a skilled whip and drove alligators in double harness through the columns of the press...he damned the roaring torrent [of the Barron Falls] with an ejaculation.'
