Series of six short, illustrated sketches published monthly from May - October 1906 in
The New Idea : A Woman's Home Journal for Australasia . 'They take the form of letter from 'Kit', the city girl in the outback, to her mother, and were written from a journal Prichard kept when she worked as a governess on a station in the far west of New South Wales. Inspired by the new landscapes through which she travelled, these sketches show the way Prichard developed fiction from life events. (Delys Bird
