Notes

  • Dedication: The Authoress desires to Dedicate this little volume of Poems to Mrs. McCourt, of Courthope, Burradoo, Bowral, as a small token of respect and esteem, and in recognition of her kindness and assistance in publishing the same. Elizabeth A. Smith.
  • Author's note: The following note was received many years ago by the Authoress of this Book of Poems:-- 'MISS COPE has written some remarkable verses, and I feel sure she is dowered with the sorrowful twofold of life. She must, however, cast aside Longfellow, and take to such superb models as Tennyson and Wordsworth. After reading them, she must choose a path of her own, HENRY KENDALL.'
