Notes

  • The murder victim of this novel is 'native-born' (i.e. Australian) and the novel also includes Australian-based characters who are visiting London. There is some reference to land development in Melbourne and to life in 'the colonies'. The novel closes with two of the main characters declaring their love and, matters being resolved in England, deciding to 'go to Australia with contented minds'.
