AbstractHistoryArchive Description

Eleven-year-old orphan Jimmy Brent meets Captain Hardy at Circular Quay. Hardy takes the boy onto the schooner the Mary Ellen, to give him a meal and a bath, and to learn more about the boy's past.Could this boy be the son of Captain James Brent, believed lost in a shipwreck near Fiji? If so, he is the much-younger brother of Dorothy, the woman whom Captain Hardy once courted, and whose father sent her away to New Zealand. Hardy concocts a plan to find Captain Brent and win Dorothy's heart.
