Notes

  • "For her one-woman stage performance of "The Pea Pickers" Joyce Goodes plays 23 characters as well as the author Eve Langleyherself, and has memorised eleven and a half thousand words from the book. Though this is the first time an Australian novel has ever been arranged and presented as a solo dramatic performance for the stage, she considers other Australian material could be handled in this way." (From the Society of Australian Writers flyer for the 5 November, 1964 event at Australia House in London.
