AbstractHistoryArchive Description

In a time when Queensland was an outpost of New South Wales, John Monkton, a man "strong as a horse and as undaunted as a lion", partners with Hugh Smith in a pastoral venture many miles west of the Condamine. He feels strongly the injustice against indigenous Australians by his fellow colonists, but he also holds an overwhelming terror of becoming the victim of their revenge.
