  • Author's note: When Mussolini's son Vittorio piloted a bomber over Abyssinia (Ethiopia) in 1936, he described how each bomb 'unfolded like a rose'. A news despatch in 1966 said that US pilots whistled as they set out to bomb North Vietnam.
