Includes 'A Pub Without Beer' from which Gordon Parsons wrote the song, 'The Pub With No Beer' recorded by Slim Dusty. The poem was originally published in the North Queensland Register in 1944 and referred to the time in 1943 when the Day Dawn Hotel in Ingham ran out of beer. American soldiers stationed locally had drunk the hotel dry at a time of rationing.
