Notes:
Many of the poems were written by Burns while at school and first appeared in "The Scotch Collegian", which he edited 1913-14. Four of his editorials are also reprinted. Prose and verse tributes by former schoolmates and fellow soldiers are also included, as is an essay on Burns by the Headmaster of Scotch College, W S Littlejohn.
Notes:
One of the poems in the collection, "For England", was set to music by L C M Donaldson and became a well known patriotic song (normally under the title "The Bugles of England")
