A member of the visiting Aboriginal cricket team delivers a letter from Queensland to Sherlock Holmes at 221B Baker Street. When Holmes and Watson go to Lord's to find out more about the letter, they have no idea that their enquiries will lead them halfway around the world. But the cricketer has been struck down by a sudden and mysterious illness, which Holmes deduces was occasioned by someone well-versed in Aboriginal lore and superstition, and Holmes decides that he and Watson must voyage to the antipodes to successfully conduct ctheir investigation.
