Poet Frank Francis set to music some of his own works, together with works by Devaney, John Shaw Neilson (qq.v.) and Fay Hobday, including Twelve Songs (1972). Francis edited Towards Evening by James Devaney (q.v.). With W. J. Buckley he wrote the music and lyrics for the musical comedy Tangles (1928), which was frequently performed in the early days of radio with the title Matrimonial Tangles. He was a member of the Queensland Authors and Artists' Association and of the Catholic Writers' Movement.
